Minnesota

from the album

It’s so very cold out,
the movie at the mall is sold out,
Mom and dad said I need to lose the ole pout,
Find something to do.

I could watch some curling,
Or my fingers twirling,
Better yet I’ll sled with neighborhood friends.

Minnesota skies that never end.
Sawtooth Mountains rise and then descend,
back into the Lake Superior otters’ waters.
Minnesota air will wake you up,
Flowers blooming like a buttercup.
Cold is flowing in, let winter begin.

Starting in September,
Summer’s but an ember,
Green grass and the flowers start to tremor,
in the frosty air.

Here in Minnesota,
The snow is over quota,
Winter is a song that goes on and on.

Minnesota skies that never end.
Sawtooth Mountains rise and then descend,
back into the Lake Superior otters’ waters.
Minnesota air will wake you up,
Flowers blooming like a buttercup.
Cold is flowing in, let winter begin.

On the Banks of Plumb Creek,
Shared her restless childhood
In pages that she made speak.

Minnesota living
Can be unforgiving
Truth be told it gets to be really cold!
